Happy Summer friends! These tunes are suited for a road trip. So go go- hit the road!
I had the opportunity to have a solo exhibition at Gallery De Fox in Downtown Santa Ana for the month of March, 2016. I was able to show all the original work of my National Park Series and some of my State Parks. The title and artist statement are below.
North American Parks: Gouache studies of America’s backcountry & preserved lands.
" These are the places I want to remember.
To observe the uniqueness of our landscape,
practice thankfulness for its beauty and to help preserve
the memory of America’s backcountry
-- while it is still here.
Painting is how I preserve these landscapes
rich in detail and story."
Some of my work was accepted into Brea Gallery's "Made in California" Exhibit. I was awarded one of the "Honorable Mentions" in this exhibit of 70 artists. The work will be up until June 17th.
I was so honored and stoked to be a featured artist for She-Explores for November and December. She Explores is a unique space that is all about highlighting women who travel, adventure and/or create. It was a pleasure to partner with her for a few months! Gale, of She-Explores interviewed me about my illustration business and love for the outdoors. You can see this interview by clicking here- http://www.she-explores.com/artistry/erin-vaughan/
I have the wonderful opportunity to show all my National Park Paintings that I have done thus far, this coming March 2016, in Downtown Santa Ana, at Gallery De Fox. It will be a Solo Exhibition with 25 + paintings displayed. This year is actually the 100th Anniversary of our National Parks, so it will be special to display this work in correlation with that. The opening is March 5, 2016 at 6pm and there will be a closing night as well which I will announce the date of soon.
I'd love for you to come by the Gallery on the opening or closing night.
The address for Gallery De Fox is: 171 W 2nd St, Santa Ana, California 92701
Super inspired by these ladies! They are pushing back against our technological culture and going back to creating things "hand-made". This also really makes miss three-dimensional illustration!
Last year I design and illustrated an "Adventure Series" for The Created Co. a coffee mug company. They recently interviewed me for their blog! You can check that interview out here- http://blog.thecreated.co/all/159/
